Review: Loreal Age Perfect Hydra Nutrition Day/Night Moisturizer

I soooo wanted to like these moisturizer.  I currently use the Loreal Age Perfect Hydra Nutrition Eye Balm and I am so in love with it, which is why I wanted to try the face moisturizer.  So this moisturizer has only 1 real issue but it's a big one! Other than this one issue, it would be perfect for my type of skin.  I have normal/combination skin and on the dry side in the Winter months.  This was really easy to apply.  It went on smoothly and I felt with regular usage of the Olay Pro X, that it really soaked in to my skin BUT the smell was horrific!! I felt like I was putting mens cologne on my face.  I mean the odor took me back to high school, where I'd pass a sophomore who was wearing too much of an obnoxiously cheap cologne which would actually make me sick for a while after passing him.  I gave it a few tries.  I wore it for the first night and being as tired as I was, I didn't make too much of it and just passed out.  The next night, the smell just lingered.  It was really starting to bother me.  By the third night, I wasn't feeling too well and after showering and applying my night creams this was actually starting to make me a little nauseous.  I had to wash my face and go back to my good ole Olay 7 effects and Olay serum.

I seriously cannot fathom why they would put that strong of a fragrance in a moisturizer.  I have always heard that moisturizers should be as plain as possible because any extra additives like fragrance, sheen or minute glitter pieces aren't good for the skin.  And why a fragrance that is similar to a cologne? No, I don't get it.  With  my Olay I usually get the non-fragrance version.  I have had to on occasion pick up the fragranced version because of low stock and my laziness on not wanting to drag my booty to another drug store or Target.  But the smell of the Olay with a fragrance was not off putting.  It was light and feminine and definitely did not linger.  So overall beside the odor of this moisturizer, I really liked the smooth consistency, easy application and size.  A 1.7 ounce jar will last a while as well as it was day and night.  They also offered an SPF 15 version.  I'm not sure if that is fragranced the same.  I do know that anything with an SPF already comes with a slight odor from the sunscreen but not off putting.  Well this was my review on the the Loreal Age Perfect Hydra Nutrition Day/Night Moisturizer.  I hope you will find this helpful and thanks for visiting!!

Olay Pro X Advance Cleaning System Review

Hello All!! So I have been debating forever on possibly purchasing the Clarisonic Mia.  It's basically a skin cleansing system that the reviews say transform your skin.  Only thing is, it is very pricey.  I have seen them for as little as $100.  The system consists of using a mild skin cleanser with an electronic device that vibrates a brush head against your face to remove impurities and deep clean the skin.  The reviews on almost every major site (Ulta, Macy's, Amazon, Makeup Alley etc.) are anywhere from 4-5 stars out of 5. That's pretty darn good!

So when I came across the Olay Pro X System, I figured after doing my research that it was a really great less expensive alternative.  The reviews on all the major sites are almost equal to those of the Clarisonic Mia.  Usage is exactly the same, a cleanser and the device for about 60 seconds and the price at CVS Pharmacy was $29.99/Sale $24.99.  One major difference is the Clarisonic only vibrates while the Olay Pro X spins in a circular motion.  Which I actually like.  I feel like it's actually brushing the dirt away and not just pulsating against it.  The brush head on the Clarisonic is larger than the Olay Pro X HOWEVER, the only moving part on the Clarisonic is the center bristles.  The outer ring of bristles is there only to prevent splatter.  So in actuality, the Olay Pro X has a larger moving head.

The Olay Pro X came with a small trial size cleanser.  The cleanser has a fine graininess to it.  My skin, I would say is on the sensitive side and wasn't irritated by it.  But the second time I used it and went on for more than 60 seconds, I felt a bit of irritation from it.  That was my fault though lol.  I lost track of time.  One other thing is that the Clarisonic comes with a charging dock and the Olay Pro X needs 2 double AA batteries.  I don't mind that.  I read in several reviews that the batteries have lasted people over a month with everyday use.  That isn't bad at all.

Once I finish with the Olay Pro X and apply my nighttime moisturizers, I find that my skin is glowing!! Really glowing and clear looking.  I also noticed that before I used the system, I would wake up the morning after and my skin felt tight.  Almost like either my moisturizer had been rubbed off while I slept or my skin absorbed it and needed more.  However with the use of the Olay Pro X system it felt still well moisturized in the morning with no tightness.

Overall I love it! I've used it now for 1 full week and have noticed some nice changes.  My skin looks more radiant, feels softer and I've noticed less blackheads in the areas where I would get them.  Still I have not used the Clarisonic so I cannot speak for it.  I can only compare with what I've read and pictures I have seen.  I would say if you really want to transform your skin, give the Olay Pro X system a try.  I neglected my skin for a very long time after I had my second son, and now I've got to get back to it.  This is a great cheaper alternative!! Thanks for visiting!!

I'M BACK :)

Wow!! I cannot believe how long is has been since my last post.  Our move was pretty intense.  We lived with family for about a month and I had no access to my laptop so that left me unable to blog.  I give tons of credit to people who can blog from a phone.  I couldn't do it to save my life! I was also having some major nail issues.  With my nerves shot for most of the time we were in limbo, I began biting my nails again.  They are recovering from my binge now lol.  So I have some really cute festive nail art coming in the next couple of days.  For now I have a guest post.  My very first guest post from my friend Michelle.  Really cute!!! Glitter gets me every time!!  She will be starting a new blog of her own soon (link to follow).  For now here is her first post...

Hi all!  Sirena asked if I would do a guest post on her blog and I was really excited to do it because I like to show off my nails, but like her I have many needy kids and never find time.  I finally decided to just do it!  I hope it's a good post.

I felt being Christmasy today.  What is more Christmasy than red with silver and gold glitter?

My base coat is Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear's Red Carpet, which is a red jelly with fine red glitter.  It's so pretty!

Lately I've been drooling over indie glitters.  I unfortunately cannot fathom paying $8-$12 for a bottle of polish, so when I saw this company having a Cyber Monday deal of 40% all polishes including mini's, you know I went to town.  I got 9 mini bottles!  So I popped my indie cherry!  The company is Pop Culture Cosmetics and they have some really cute polishes.  I used their Silver and Gold polish, which has large and small gold and silver hex glitter as well as some bar glitter, as the glitter top coat.  You can't really see the different glitters because of the bad lighting, but it is really a cool color combo.

I hope you enjoyed my first nail post!

Best Mascara EVER!

Benefit.com

Hello! I just had to make a post.  It's been too long.  My family and I are in limbo right now.  We have moved out of our home and living with our parent's until we are out of escrow.  Which means all of my nail polishes are boxed up.  My plan was to have them accessible to me while we are in our transition, but because of our limited space I really have no where to set up and paint my nails.  In fact, I have to admit, I bit them all off because I've been so nervous with everything. Yup, yup, I am very ashamed of myself.  I was going strong since April of this year and it all came crashing down with our very stressful move.  And moving with my little guys does not make it any easier, but I love those monsters :)  Anyhow, I really wanted to share this with you.  I have been on the hunt for the perfect mascara for what seems like years now.  And there have been a couple I have really liked but they either dry out to quickly or flake.  Well I have found one that has not let me down so far.  There is no flaking, no dragging my lashes down, it's a very black formula and has a GREAT brush.  It's Benefit's "They're Real!".  I cannot say a bad thing about this mascara other than it is pricey.  My sister bought a kit from Sephora for $23 that came with a full and trial size mascara along with a couple other Benefit items (sorry I can't recall).  So she gave me the trial size and I fell in love!  The pictures above are literally 1 quick curl and 1 coat of the mascara.  Excuse my brow's from growing in :)

This formula kept my curl, darkened the lashes and didn't flake.  I will update with a close up picture of the brush, for now I'm using the Benefit picture.  It has a ball tip and the brush has separated rubber bristles.  I've always been skeptical of  rubber mascara brushes since trying a couple of really bad one's about 6 months ago.  The tip being being surrounded by rubber bristles is extremely helpful.  It helped to remove any clumping that may occur and separates nicely.  I also noticed that my brows were just as curled and dark at the end of the day as they were when I first applied my makeup.  Removal is easy as well, I used some Johnson's baby soap and it was off quickly with no under eye residue.  So I just wanted to share with you all my awesome experience.  Thanks for visiting!!

ULTA %40 OFF SALE

I just HAD to share this with everyone in case you haven't already heard.  Ulta stores and Ulta.com are having a %40 off sale for NYX, Almay, Physicians Formula and Revlon.  The sale runs now until Saturday, September 29th.  I also just saw on the website that today only - Wednesday the 26th, they are offering free shipping PLUS a free gift with a $35 purchase from 10 am to 4 pm.  This is a great deal!!

I have been in LOVE with the Revlon Just Bitten Kissable Balm! It lasts all day and doesn't have a nasty taste.  There is a really nice variety of colors and it retails anywhere from $7 on sale to $9.  Right now Ulta has them for $5.49!! I wanted to actually share these with everyone because they're so great.  I'm not one to re-apply lip color.  Once I put it on, I mostly just stick with chapstick for the rest of the day.  So it's nice to have a pretty stain that I can just apply chapstick over. Another thing very worth mentioning is that this stain isn't dry like most other stains.  Here is a few I pulled out of my purse.  These are my favorite colors at the moment and what I carry in my bag with me.

Just one more to share with you.  I got this picture from the Physician's Formula website.  This is the lash boosting eyeliner.  I have NEVER been good at putting on eyeliner until my sister introduced me to this one.  The tip is so fine, it's actually kind of hard to mess up.  I don't really buy into the claims that it fattens up my eyelashes because I've been using it for months now and I don't notice a difference but the eyeliner is so great that I don't even care.  I recently purchased this on sale at CVS 2 weeks ago for $11.49 and it's on sale at Ulta right now for $6.59!!!! Ugh, Oh well!! This really is a must try, especially if your incapable of making even wings or a straight line with your eyeliner like I am :)

Anyhow just thought I'd share this great sale with you all.  Thanks for stopping by!!
